David has been with Nexia Court & Co for 15 years starting as a graduate and becoming one of the youngest partners in 2001, after only 7 years of service.
His clients operate within a diverse range of economic sectors and entity types, and consequently David has comprehensive industry experience and has grasped excellent commercial skills.
David's clients include large wholesaling and investment companies; unlisted public companies including not-for-profit entities (schools, religious organisations, registered clubs, sporting associations and charities) and small foreign owned private companies. Many of these clients have been working with him since he joined as a graduate, enjoying business growth over this 15-year period and together they have grown through mutual experiences.
David is contributing significantly to the firm's growth through development of his practice in statutory audit, IFRS compliance, fair value principles, company valuations, due diligence and other areas of technical accounting. Other opportunities are coming to David from the strong relationships being developed with the firm's overseas Nexia offices and his responses to the demands of international clients of these overseas offices looking for accounting and auditing services in Australia.
As the firm's Technical Standards and Quality Control Partner, David is responsible for ensuring the firm can adequately advise clients in matters of compliance with IFRS accounting, market listing rules and procedures and corporate governance issues.
He proudly epitomises the firm's well-known staff qualities of loyalty and having a strong work ethic, displayed through the high level of personal service he provides to his clients.
David shares his strong people skills within the firm through his staff training responsibilities for technical issues and will proudly mentor and support younger staff.
He began his career in the retail sector which offered early opportunities to learn how to deal with people in effective and consultative ways and as an accountant he continues to work in this sector today with clients in food and beverage production.
David holds a Bachelor of Economics (Accounting) from Macquarie University and is an Associate Member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in Australia and is also a Registered Auditor and Registered Tax Agent.
